It DUMPED snow in the Thames Valley yesterday. I got stuck with the girls for THREE HOURS, and finally abandoned the car and walked two miles home.
So what do you do when life give you snow? Make snow ice cream of course!
Ingredients:
- 250 ml (1 cup) milk
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 5 - 7 cups snow! (clean and fluffy, not packed)
Mix together milk, vanilla, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Slowly add the snow, stirring constantly, until it is thick. Enjoy!
And if you don't hear from me before Christmas, here's a message for all those boxes under the tree...

Great idea - reminds me of snow cones, one of my favourite things to eat in Hawaii. Where it's hot all the time, of course. Ho ho ho. Glad you got home OK! x

It is more like a snow cone than ice cream, but my daughters loved it and thought it tasted much better than just plain snow!

That's a great idea. My two love nothing more than eating snow, this should be right up their street.

I have never tried snow Ice cream if it snows again this year I just may have to though not sure we will get enough to have "clean" snow
Posted by: Toni | 23 December 2009 at 02:26 PM
Online -- try it!
Toni -- defo need "clean" snow. I did see lots of yellow snow on our walk today and had to explain it to 5-yr-old!

Well I'd love to try that - if we ever get enough snow. Have decided that I am the "anti-snow": wherever I am, snow isn't. It has even just dumped 2ft in DC and we barely had any last year....

Wow, that is some snow. We've been watching on the news all the snow in the northern hemisphere, whilst we're have 35c+ everyday. I'm not sure how I would be with a white Christmas as Christmas is all about sun, sand and surf for my family.
Merry Christmas

Thanks for this - never seen it before. We've had a snow 'school' today - maths, science and craft activities. I've linked through to you - hope that's OK?
