I'm writing this because I am frustrated.
My daughter is being bullied by her ex-best friend.
It's not the beat-you-up-in-the-hall bullying. It's the slow-burn kind of bullying girls are so good at. The constant trickle of nastiness on the playground and out of adult earshot. You aren't allowed to pass my desk. You can't stand there. You can't play with us. The bully even corralled a group of girls into chanting "you are mean, you are mean" to my daughter when the two were "friends" and my daughter tried to play with someone else.
I know bullying isn't about the victim, it's about the bully. Their lack of self-confidence and need to show others they are important and in charge. I also know this particular girl has issues at home.
But that does not help my poor daughter, who yesterday came home from school in tears, and reduced me to tears as well.
Any suggestions on how to handle bullies greatly appreciated. Tissues welcome too.
