Have you been following my little project with O2 Recycle? I recycled my shattered iPhone and O2 was kind enough to track her journey from my house to new owner. The poor little darling was so nervous when she left here. I didn't have the heart to tell her I got £157 for recycling her.
Well, in my last post she was in Scotland in the recycle warehouse and getting gussied up. I think she had time to visit the inlaws.
I have just had word that she in now in Hong Kong! Wow. I've never even been to Hong Kong. How exciting.
I'm just waiting on word about her final owner. But for you enthusiasts out there, here's what happened to her after she got off the cargo flight...

I know you are just DYING to know what has happened to my little shattered iPhone 4 on her O2 Recycle journey. Well, here's the scoop. My little girl has made it to the remarketing centre in Scotland. She was inspected there, and because of her slight blemishes (OK, her entire glass back was shattered), they offered me £157.50 (down from the web site estimate £210). I thought about it for about a second and agreed.
Those Scots sure are fast. I already have the cheque!

Ever wonder what happens to old mobile phones? I didn't, until 02 called and asked if I had any to recycle. And then they said they could track the phone and see where it ended up.
Africa? Eastern Europe? Or most likely somewhere in the UK. I like the idea of the phone being gussied up, and given a new life, and not in a box in our attic gathering dust.
